The first experiments of Tetrapack pyrolysis
At the end of October, our colleagues Miloš, Petr, and Vít went to Nové Město nad Váhom in Slovakia for three days. Here, we carried out another series of experiments on the pyrolysis unit of Enress a.s. company. The experiments were carried out as part of the currently running project PE2SURF (TAČR Sigma DC2, TQ15000068), which is being implemented in colaboration with RANIDO s.r.o. and whose goal is to produce surfactants from waste plastics.
Their main task was to carry out three tests with the aim of describing the influence of reaction conditions on the yields, composition and properties of the products of pyrolysis of waste Tetrapak. Thanks to the effective cooperation with the company Enress a.s. within the framework of the currently running TAČR projects dedicated to the chemical recycling of waste plastics, the pyrolysis unit has been significantly modified in the last few months. The newly acquired knowledge from the experiments led to the proposal of further modifications, which will be implemented in the near future. Thanks to this cooperation, colleagues can effectively move towards the development and gradual implementation of chemical recycling of waste plastics into practice.
You too can contribute to this goal and participate with us in solving current challenges in our society, for example as part of your final theses or research internships in our team.
